Regulatory Compliance

At Cowra Retirement Village, your safety, dignity, and well-being are our highest priorities. That’s why we strictly follow all government regulations and compliance standards set by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. These regulations ensure that every resident receives high-quality care in a respectful, secure, and supportive environment.

From staff training and medication management to hygiene standards and resident rights, we are regularly audited to ensure we meet—and exceed—required benchmarks. You can have peace of mind knowing we are committed to continuous improvement, transparency, and providing care that meets your needs with professionalism and compassion.

Preparing for Strengthed Aged Care Quality Standards

The strengthened Quality Standards are part of the new Aged Care Act 2024 and they applied from 1 November 2025. They’re more detailed and measurable than the previous Quality Standards, which were in place before the start of the new Act.

Cowra Retirement Village is committed to delivering safe, high-quality care that meets the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards introduced across Australia. These updated standards place older people at the centre of their care, with a stronger focus on dignity, choice, and wellbeing, as well as clearer expectations for providers in areas such as clinical care, governance, food and nutrition, and the living environment.

At Cowra Retirement Village, we welcome these reforms as an important step forward for the sector. They reinforce our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, transparent practices, and providing a supportive community where residents can feel safe, respected, and confident in the care they receive every day.

Complaints and Concerns

Your Voice Matters in Aged Care

At our aged care home, we’re committed to providing safe, respectful, and high-quality care. If you or your loved one ever have a concern, we encourage you to speak up. Making a complaint or raising an issue helps us improve our services and ensure your needs are met. All concerns are taken seriously, handled with care and confidentiality, and will never affect the quality of care you receive. You can talk to a staff member, lodge a complaint anonymously, or contact the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission at any time. We're here to listen — because your wellbeing is our top priority.
